The name escapes me at this point. There wasn't a lot of support for any other tools that I knew of. I now use IntelliJ Idea and the list of third party tools for everything you can imagine is huge. I probably agree with most everything you said. There does seem to be an attitude that you just use the tools M$ provides and that's it.
