Figure out the absolute least you need to do to implement the idea, do just that, and then polish the hell out of the experience.

Not only a good idea for iPhone apps, a good idea for all apps. Too often people just say ‘Do the simplest thing that could possibly work’ and don’t carry on with the polish.
