New Mexico is currently focused on the movie industry.  If we could see a similar effort to attract startups, I think we would see a lot of success.  We need to build a startup environment.  And the community can do a lot for that.  Boulder has seen a lot of growth in their start-up scene, part in thanks to Techstars, but put also because those technology companies stay very involved.  One community work center (a co-working space) in ABQ that is just starting is quelab: http://quelab.net/ .  The plans are moving along, and we should have some space soon(Dont let me kid you, I&#039;m barely involved, there are smarter and more motivated people running it.  That coupled with that fact that I&#039;m currently in Los Alamos..)  Being able to connect with smart, motivated individuals and sharing ideas helps a startup community to continue to thrive.
